Education for Foreigners: Schools and Korean Language

International Schools in Korea

There are approximately 40 foreign schools across Korea, with more than half located in Seoul. Tuition typically ranges from US$15,000 to US$25,000 annually, plus additional costs for school buses, textbooks, and extracurricular activities.

Types of International Education

  1. Foreign Schools โ€” For children of foreigners. Koreans returning after 3+ years abroad may be admitted within capacity limits.
  2. Foreign Educational Institutions โ€” Run by non-profit organizations under foreign curricula. No nationality restrictions.
  3. Jeju International Schools โ€” Located in Jeju English Education City. No nationality restrictions for admission.

Learning Korean

Learning Korean is essential for daily life in Korea. Many free and low-cost programs are available:
